Summary:
The Executive Assistant to the Office of the President (EA) is the chief liaison between the President and all members of the College community as well as the public.
The EA works in tandem with the President as well as independently.
The EA performs a range of important administrative, strategic, and clerical functions.
The position requires a person with excellent social and communication skills, strong organizational abilities, and superlative confidentiality.
The Executive Assistant to the President answers directly to the President of Thomas More College of Liberal Arts and acts as the primary contact person for all internal and external audiences.
The EA supports the work of the President in all his duties and professional activities.
CHIEF DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
Oversight of the day-to-day activities and responsibilities of the President Confidential review of communications to the President in all forms (post, phone, email) Prioritization of communications, presidential meetings, and appointments To act as gate keeper and host of the Office of the President Planning and management of all travel arrangements for the Office of the President Coordination of the President's calendar with various College constituencies and the President's family Maintenance of all files and correspondence related to the Office of the President Liaison to public constituencies (e.

, accreditation and educational agencies, Church leaders) and internal constituencies (students, staff, faculty, chaplains, and trustees) Administrative support for the academic duties and projects of the President Monitoring of social media about the College and assisting the President in public information campaigns Assistance in the preparation of Board Reports, and appropriate legal and educational documents generated by the Office of the President Coordination of events, including weekly wine reception, seasonal trustee meetings, and special College occasions Maintenance of inventory and orders for staff coffee room Oversight of the aesthetic environment of the administrative building and coordination of the seasonal decorations of the campus QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
Strong moral character and public support for the teachings of the Catholic Church Interest in learning and culture Strong verbal and written communications skills High proficiency at creating order in an office setting Evidence of the ability to work successfully with others Precision in expense tracking and maintenance of office files Ability to perform regular tasks with various computer applications and office software (Excel, Windows, Gmail, etc.
) Disposition and character to foster a supportive, open, and collaborative working environment Creative capabilities for hosting social occasions for the staff, Trustees, and College guests Knowledge about the use and conventions of social media Confidentiality Good health; manual dexterity; strength to lift 30 lbs.

The ability to understand or learn the general practices of accreditation, higher education, and non-profits Excellent handwriting (print and cursive) Basic knowledge of coffees, teas, wines, and foods appropriate to special events Flair for decoration and presentation A liberal arts degree (desired, but not required)
