Do you want to be a part of something new? The FFIO Risk Team within the Fidelity Legal, Risk and Compliance group is looking for a passionate, hard-working Director to help support the business in identifying, monitoring and mitigating risks associated with Fidelity's growing capabilities supporting alternative investment products.
As Risk Director, you will be responsible for identifying, assessing, and reporting on significant risks and helping management improve the control environment for these new capabilities in order protect the interests of the firm and our customers.
The Businesses We SupportYou will primarily support the Alternative Accounting Team within Fidelity's Fund and Investment Operations (FFIO) business unit.
The business unit provides back office operational support to Fidelity Retail and Institutional products, including books and records maintenance, securities' pricing, fund and security level performance analysis, financial reporting and tax work.
The Alternative Accounting Team provides operational support and performs the daily/monthly pricing and bookkeeping for Fidelity's alternative products and ETF funds within FFIO.
You will also work across the Risk team and FFIO to support risk management activities related to the end-to-end process for these new investment types.
This role is part of a larger Risk and Compliance team that supports the other groups within FFIO, as well as a variety of Fidelity's Corporate Functions, including Fidelity Real Estate Company (FREC), Corporate Accounting, Corporate Treasury, Procurement, and Enterprise HR.
The Expertise You Have Bachelors' Degree required Certified public accounting certification (CPA) a plus Audit or other Risk Management experience preferred Understanding of Alternative Investment Products, including partnerships, crypto, real estate, etc.
Fund accounting and operations knowledge, specifically related to alternative investments, required Demonstrated leadership or project management experience Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate complex information The Skills You Bring Demonstrated risk management knowledge and experience, including risk assessment and control evaluation Understanding of fund accounting, partnerships and regulatory environment Strategic thinking by approaching work with an open mind and sense of creativity, and challenging current practices and recommending improvements to mitigate risks and drive positive change Knowledge of data analytics capabilities/tools to analyzefull populations to surface risk or identify control deficiencies Works comfortably in a fast-paced and dynamic environment handling multiple projects simultaneously with minimal day-to-day supervision with the ability to prioritize and shift focus quickly based on risk/business need Communicates clearly, concisely and impactfully in order to influence others strong and inclusive working relationships, in person and virtually, with business partners and colleaguesProvides supervision, coaching and direction to less experienced associates, as well as training/knowledge sharing as subject matter authority to othersAdaptable to new information, changing business priorities, input from others, and lessons learnedThe Value You Deliver As Risk Director, you will play a leadership role in setting and executing the Risk Management strategy for Fidelity's growing capabilities supporting alternative investment products, including:
