Job Description BAE Systems is looking for a Security Systems Administrator.
The qualified candidate will be working with a lead ISSO or ISSM supporting system security activities in a rapid development environment.
They will support the specification, development, implementation, and maintenance of computer security technologies using cybersecurity methodologies and information assurance management techniques on internal, DoD, and Intelligence Community systems.
Tasks may include:
Performing technical tasks as part of the Security Systems Administrator team supporting system security compliance Maintaining day-to-day security posture and continuous monitoring of IS including patching, configuration, and installation Conducting vulnerability scans to detect system security and configuration vulnerabilities Reporting or resolving system configuration and patching vulnerability issues in coordination with the lead ISSM/ISSO or program management Providing configuration and change management and accurately assessing the impact of system/configuration modifications upon the system's security posture and compliance Conducting reviews and technical inspections (as prescribed by the Lead ISSM/ISSO) to identify and mitigate potential security weaknesses, and ensure that security features applied to a system are implemented and functional Assisting the Lead ISSM/ISSO in monitoring and resolving Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&M) to mitigate system vulnerabilities on assigned Information Systems Supporting Assessment and Authorization and other security test events or reviews to achieve accreditation milestones Support reporting of security incidentsThis position may require business travel to customer locations in support of product demonstrations, software installation, and system testing.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills Typically a Bachelor's Degree and 4 years work experience or equivalent experience and ability to obtain a CompTIA Security
or equivalent certification within 6 months of hire Experience with Ubuntu/Linux/Windows Operating Systems Experience with virtualized and containerized environments Open source SW familiarity requiring ongoing support to install, configure and troubleshoot.
Ability to deal with complex IT, hardware, software and program infrastructure issues.
Working cohesively with Security and IT to meet customer program requirements.
Motivated self-starter with good problem solving skills, judgment, and analytical capability Team player with a proactive attitude and the ability to be productive in a dynamic/collaborative environment Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills Top Secret Clearance with ability to receive Special Access or Special Compartmented Access Out of the box thinking to meet mission requirements while meeting Security and IT protocols.
Flexible in a fast paced environment regardless of demands Understanding of national Cybersecurity policies, IA standard security principles, standards and industry best practices Experience in vulnerability assessment and risk mitigation Conduct data transfers following approved security procedures.
Ability to ensure system security measures comply with applicable government policies (RMF, NIST SP 800-53, NIST SP 800-171, and internal standards) Ability to conduct automated and manual system assessments to validate system compliance with DISA Security Technical Information Guidelines (STIGS) Ability to review and provide recommendations for approval of all modifications to the information system Ability to assist in maintaining the security Body of Evidence such as the IA CONOPS, Risk Matrix, SSP, STP, POA&M, SCTM, and system policies and procedures Ability to assist with other traditional systems engineering tasks such as CONOPS, requirements, and system level testing Understanding of offensive security principles Planning and organization skills Experience with DISA STIGs and/or IAVA compliance hardening and patching Experience with multiple A&A tools, such as:
ACAS Nessus, HBSS, Puppet, STIG Viewer, SCAP Compliance Checker, SIEM systems Technical documentation development ISC2 CISSP certification or equivalent certification Building, configuring and installing end to end test stands.
Ability to keep systems patched in an air gapped network.
