Job Description:
The RoleAs a Fidelity Institutional Technology Chapter Leader, you blend deep Software Engineering knowledge with a passion for coaching, mentoring, and developing associates.
You are committed to improving the value delivered to our customers by collaborating with other leaders to establish standards for our chapters, influencing strategic decisions and building high quality software solutions.
You will directly manage a team of chapter members (Software engineers, Quality and Analysis) who work within the Managed Account and Advisory Solutions product areas.
You are intellectually curious and are committed to developing your own expertise and empowering others by bringing the latest thinking to your role.
Ensuring chapter talent composition and workforce planning aligns with strategic business priorities Supporting and empowering chapter members to enable delivery of valued solutions in their teams through continuous improvement and learning Enabling an agile and frictionless organization by demonstrating agile behaviors Partner with Architecture, Cybersecurity and Enterprise Infrastructure to understand new directives and directions with regard to Total Lifecycle Management Proactively partnering with Chapter Area, Product Area, Center of Excellence, and Squad Leaders to drive performance of development efforts and coordinate dependencies influence strategic backlog and prioritization decisions balancing business priorities with Total Lifecycle Management measure performance through established objectives and KPI s build learning opportunities and learning day content to develop associate skills set and apply standards and ensure the work performed is aligned with established road maps drive stability and observability with all software products in our production environments.
Actively sharing insights, knowledge, industry practices and developments across the organization The Expertise and Skills You Bring Bachelor s degree in MIS, Computer Science or related field 10
years of experience building various components of scalable enterprise applications Experience leading, coaching, mentoring, and developing people and teams in an agile organization Experience identifying, planning for and acquiring talent across large organizations Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with which to build and maintain strong cross-functional relationships at all levels of the organization Decision making experience using a data-focused approach in day-to-day leadership situations and strategic tradeoff analyses Work with Managed Accounts, Models, Portfolio Construction, 3rd party Integrations, and Institutional Client Solutions is strongly desired Experience with any/all of the following would be a significant plus:
Unit testing and test automation libraries/strategies Adaption of continuous-delivery based engineering practices Front-end web development using responsive frameworks like Angular Middle-tier service development with strong API design skills (Java preferred) Running software on Cloud Service Providers like Amazon Web Services Relational database development is a plus (Oracle preferred) Financial services experience is preferred The TeamYou will work in partnership with Squad Leaders and other Chapter Leaders aligned to the Managed Account and Advisory Solutions group and the broader FI Technology Group.
