Database Security Engineer
Fidelity Investments is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join the SWE domain to support Data Protection & Analytics Product Area within Enterprise Cyber Security in Westlake, TX.
The Team Our team focuses on Database Activity Monitoring for our most critical database platforms.
We architect, design, deploy, administer, support, and maintain global deployments of database activity monitoring capabilities.
We have strong technical backgrounds, ability to troubleshoot complex problems, innovative thinking, excellent communication, and willingness to drive customer satisfaction directly with end users.
The Expertise You Have o Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent technology discipline o 6
years of experience in a distributed IT Engineering and/or support function with background in Linux Operating Systems management and networking (from Systems perspective) is required.
o 2-4 years of experience as a DBA in a mixed RDBMS environment (Oracle, DB2, etc.
) is required.
o Experience with Information Security domain is preferred.
o Experience working with Database Activity Monitoring (jSonar or Guardium), Vulnerability Assessment and/or SIEM tools is preferred.
o Experience with automation (Jenkins, etc.
) and scripting knowledge (Perl, Python, etc.
) is beneficial.
o Experience in working with cloud computing technologies (AWS) is required.
AWS associate certification is preferred.
o 3-5 years of experience working with Jenkins, GitHub, SonarQube, EKS and Terraform.
The Skills You Bring o Strong knowledge of supporting operating systems (Linux and Windows) from Engineering standpoint o Familiarity with ITIL or another IT service management framework o Knowledge of Agile/DevOps Methodologies o Excellent system analysis and problem-solving skills o Experience Troubleshooting Difficult Technical Problems The Value You Deliver o You will deliver engineering solutions and capabilities that deepen our ability to monitor database activity to support our Cybersecurity initiative.
o You will be responsible for providing ongoing production support including incident, change and release management activities.
o You will be required to participate in our global on-call rotation to ensure platform availability and stability.
o You will be responsible for technology lifecycle management activities.
o You will use well established enterprise standards, processes and procedures to ensure engineering activities are delivered in a timely fashion with high quality of work product.
