Director of Mission Analysis

This position has leadership responsibilities for the Mission Analysis (MA) function within the Technology Solutions (TS) business area. The role reports directly to the VP/GM of Technology Solutions and supports analysis activities of external customers and internal sponsors from the sector, business areas, and TS.
This position can be located in Arlington, VA or Merrimack, NH or Burlington, MA.
Responsibilities will be accomplished through the development of internal Operations Analysis (OA) and Modeling and Simulation (M&S) capabilities, strategic relationships with like organizations within the DoD (e.g., N81, AFSIM, AF Checkmate), and vendors that provide analysis for a fee.
The person will sit on the TS leadership team and is expected to leverage their organization's OA insight to drive business strategies, collaboration on product and technical roadmaps, and investment strategies. The person in this role is expected to work independently with limited direction.
As this person will be helping to establish a Mission Analysis function, the assignment will include startup activities and overall responsibility for the function's execution:
1. Work with the TS VP/GM and other stakeholders to develop an organization that efficiently deliver on the Mission Analysis function.
2. Survey existing MA-relevant capabilities across the ES organization and develop a strategy to leverage them consistent with the MA mission.
3. Develop relationships with external customer-based organizations (and possibly other aerospace and defense primes) that will allow us to leverage their expertise and analysis resources to compliment our organic capabilities.
4. Cultivate relationships with external fee for service providers to address any shortcoming in our capabilities.
5. Help identify and execute analyses designed to drive ES investment, campaign/pursuit strategies, technology investment, etc.
6. Function as an integral member of the TS leadership team
Required Skills and
Experience:
- Bachelors and 15
year(s) relevant experience; understanding of the defense market and advanced strategic technology.
- Eligibility for a TS clearance is required, current clearance strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to execute Operations Analyses as a tool to shape customer priorities, internal investment, campaign and capture strategies, and product innovation.
- Demonstration of the (TPL) Total Performance Leadership competencies;
- Shaping, identification, qualification and creation of new business opportunities;
- Problem Solving and analytical skills to resolve issues in a variety of complex situations, without supervision;
- Ability to hire, mentor, coach and train personnel to support business growth;
- Ability to collaborate/partner with BAE Systems, Industry partners and our customers and lastly;
- Able to be a trusted advisor to the Business Area VP/GM.
