Serve as the Hardware Engineering Discipline Lead for the Technology Solutions (TS) Business Area. Position is located in the MER 15 facility in Merrimack, NH and will report to the Director, Defense Hardware Engineering, Electronic Systems. The Hardware Engineering Lead is responsible for all aspects of Hardware Engineering's performance in support of the TS Business Area. As such, the TS Hardware Discipline Lead is responsible for all aspects of hardware design, including application of core engineering processes, talent development, and performance on programs. Also responsible for the Antenna and RF Convertor Capability Groups, and the System on a Chip (SoC) Community of Practice (CoP).
Specific Responsibilities Include:
Partner with TS business leaders to ensure business objectives are achieved.
Support the TS BAED and act as delegate when BAED is absent.
Attract and retain staff to support the business; resolve any resource or staffing issues.
Identify and develop critical skills and resources required to meet business objectives.
Ensure application of engineering processes (emphasis on tailoring to maximize value added).
Meet all department financial objectives (Direct Labor, Indirect Expenses, Utilization and IE rate).
Participate in discipline continuous improvement activities and ensure adoption within the organization.
Establish goals and standards of performance, create budgets, staffing requirements, and short and long-term strategic plans.
Required Education: Bachelor''s and 16
year(s) related experience
Required
Experience: Bachelor''s Degree or equivalent experience in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics or related fields
Required Skills: - Extensive technical leadership experience and ability to create alignment within the organization
Proven ability to lead a diverse organization across multiple sites
Ability to formulate a vision and implement action plans to achieve goals
Ability to define, develop and maintain critical skills in support of the business area
Practical understanding of product development and the DoD product development lifecycle
Proven performance in management, mentoring, coaching and communication skills
Demonstrated critical thinking skills and decision-making ability
Preferred Skills: - Advanced technical degree
Executive leadership experience
Experience pursuing and executing DARPA contracts or Advanced Technology Development (5
years preferred)
